I used to dread the editing and retouching part of photography. When I went to college for photography it was pretty much all film (yeah, I’m older than you think I am, haha!) so retouching in Photoshop wasn’t a thing. However, over the years I have really begun to enjoy it. It’s fun to see an already awesome shot and then make it better! This is something I recently added to my resume… retouching for other photographers (weddings, real estate, portraits, you name it!).
This shot is one that I took last weekend of my baby girl. I’ve been dying to try out this spot…I pass it a few times every week when I take my kiddos for a walk/hike. Since moving to Kentucky this has definitely become one of my absolute favorite areas…Buttermilk Falls. The lighting, the trees, foilage, …swoon!
I didn’t shoot this image with this retouching in mind, but I love the soft, dreamy, fantasy feel to it.
So here is my before and after…
*Just restating…I’m working on getting a new website up, which is why for now when you type in http://www.alisonbeyerphotography.com, it comes here to my blog. So just a heads up! Bear with me while I work on it. This is motivating me to get working on my blog more though! 😉
I can’t gush about this wedding enough! Everything was absolutely gorgeous! I was so excited I got to travel back to Wyoming for this beautiful wedding day. It was at the UXU Ranch near Yellowstone/Cody Wyoming. There’s nothing quite like a country ranch wedding.
So here is a little peek at a few photos with more to come. Congratulations to this happy couple!
Starting with one of my favorites… 🙂
And everyone got a chance to congratulate the newlyweds, even the horses 😉
It’s 2015 already! Christmas is over 😦 and I’m seeing not much point to the snow anymore, haha! But since it is here, I might as well stay warm inside and catch up on a little blogging.
I’ll start with this girl, my niece, who I’ve been photographing for 10+ years now, who still loves to challenge me when it comes to taking her pictures! Haha…it has always been her idea vs. mine (she wins 90% of the time). 🙂
She was our first official visitor out here in Wyoming and she got to stay with us for a couple weeks. In addition to crafts, exploring, and four-wheeling, I talked her into doing outdoor portraits at a couple different locations (ok, I had to beg and bribe her!). We ventured up Chief Joseph Scenic Hwy for the fall foliage along a stream, emphasizing those golden autumn colors here. Then we headed for Clark Canyon for that old western backdrop (I’m pretty sure John Wayne was nearby). And finally, we ended at sunset in my backyard with the beautiful Beartooth Mountain Range and Heart Mountain in the background (swooning!!!). I’m in love with all the different amazing locations out here for family and wedding photos, endless options!
So here are a few of my favorites from our fall photography session… ❤
I think this one is my all time favorite…
I fear that one day she may not find my jokes funny anymore…but for now, I love getting this kind of laugh out of her!
She’s also my little camera buddy. 🙂
Free spirit too…
At least once every 10 frames she’d have to wink at me 😉
