Wyoming Family Portraits | Alison Beyer Photography

I can’t believe we are already in October, what happened to the summer?!  So now the craziness really begins…holidays are right around the corner!  But as our schedules pick up, don’t forget to get your family portraits taken.  Those little kiddos change and grow so fast, you definitely want to capture those precious moments before they are off to college (in a blink!).

I got to photograph this beautiful family while they were out here on vacation/family visit.  A special time too, since the kiddos were both celebrating birthdays (turning three and one).  They were such a blast, the sweet girl so adorable with her little poses and the little guy really great at smashing cupcakes!

So here are a few of my favorites… 🙂

Family Portraits | Wyoming Family Photographer

Back to work!  This sweet family was my first job back from maternity leave.  I love photographing family photos here in Wyoming, endless beautiful landscapes for backdrops.  We took these family pictures in Clark, Wyoming with the Beartooth mountain range in the background.  LOVE!

It was a blast to photograph them too…they had some fun ideas (love the antique car, Royals theme, and puppy dogs!).  So here are some of their favorites (as well as mine 🙂 )!

Baby’s First Year | Wyoming Baby Photographer

This beautiful baby girl grew up in just a blink of an eye!  I had so much fun looking back through our year of photo sessions (I definitely recommend capturing these 4 stages: newborn, 3-4 months, 6-8 months, and one year).  We did a variety of locations, plenty of fun/adorable outfits, and added mom, dad, and sister into the portraits as well.

So here is a little sampling of each session starting with Harper’s newborn portraits… ❤

Maternity Portraits | Wyoming Baby Photographer

So….I haven’t posted anything to my blog is 5 months, yikes!  I’m definitely slacking on it and I have so many shoots I’m dying to get up here (and hopefully I will!).

I never announced on here or my photography facebook page that my husband and I are expecting out first child in just a few weeks, yay!  We are super excited and have been busy the past few months getting ready for his (it’s a boy!) arrival in March.

I thought I’d kick off my blog again with the maternity photos I attempted to take of us a couple weeks ago.  I would definitely recommend you hire me to take them 😉 and don’t attempt them yourself!  I only wanted a couple and thought it be easy..haha.  Ultimately, I just wanted something to document this time and after all, I am a photographer so I have to get them done, right?!! 😉

Thus, here is me at 35 weeks, with the hubs, and our animals (can’t forget them!)…

This is usually how photos start with our animals…the cat doesn’t like the dog (she’s typically hissing), and the dog is scared of the cat.

At least we got one half-way decent pic!

Lastly, our announcement when we found out we were having a boy at 19 weeks! 🙂

Meet Noah | Child Photography | Wyoming Portrait Photographer

This little guy was absolutely adorable to photograph.  It did take a little convincing, a lot of bribery, and a smidge of trickery (hee, hee) to get him to agree to taking some photos (wait a minute, my husband’s the same way…hmmmm), but in the end I feel as though we both won. 🙂  I got some cute kid portraits and he had a little fun (or at least I hope he did! haha).

The weather is a bit chilly right now in January here in Wyoming, so we did opt for the studio on this particular day.  Thus, since we were in my studio, we had perfect lighting and the weather was ideal! 😉  (The benefit to studio portraits!)

And… I now think we can all agree that little boys clothes can be as cute as dressing up little girls…seriously LOVED all of Noah’s adorable little outfits.  Such a little stud muffin, right?!

This one cracks me up…little boys don’t always want to be kissed by their mamas!

Baby and Family Portraits | Wyoming and Montana Family Photographer

If you know me, you know that I absolutely love the 6-9 month stage for baby pictures…they are sitting up, maybe crawling a little, but definitely not running yet! Plus it is a great age to venture outside with them and get some outdoor baby portraits.

I loved photographing this sweet little munchkin…who has the most beautiful blue eyes!  We took photos of this baby girl and her family portraits near Cody and Powell, Wyoming off Chief Joseph Scenic Hwy.  Then ended with a few studio portraits here in Baby A’s little cow costume, adorbs!  Although I’m not sure how much she enjoyed her little outfit. 😉

Here’s a few of my favs…

Child Portraits | Wyoming and Montana Family Photographer

It’s 2015 already!  Christmas is over 😦 and I’m seeing not much point to the snow anymore, haha!  But since it is here, I might as well stay warm inside and catch up on a little blogging.

I’ll start with this girl, my niece, who I’ve been photographing for 10+ years now, who still loves to challenge me when it comes to taking her pictures!  Haha…it has always been her idea vs. mine (she wins 90% of the time). 🙂

She was our first official visitor out here in Wyoming and she got to stay with us for a couple weeks.  In addition to crafts, exploring, and four-wheeling, I talked her into doing outdoor portraits at a couple different locations (ok, I had to beg and bribe her!).  We ventured up Chief Joseph Scenic Hwy for the fall foliage along a stream, emphasizing those golden autumn colors here.  Then we headed for Clark Canyon for that old western backdrop (I’m pretty sure John Wayne was nearby).  And finally, we ended at sunset in my backyard with the beautiful Beartooth Mountain Range and Heart Mountain in the background (swooning!!!).  I’m in love with all the different amazing locations out here for family and wedding photos, endless options!

So here are a few of my favorites from our fall photography session… ❤

Happy New Year,

Alison

Wedding and Commercial Photographer of the Year

I was so humbled and honored to receive once again “Wedding Photographer of the Year” as well as “Commercial Photographer of the Year” with the Professional Photographers of Southwest Florida and “Outstanding Service Award” with the Florida Professional Photographers.  This was my last year with the PPSWF and FPP since I’ve moved out west, so I’m happy to go out with a bang!  I told my husband I should get a REALLY big bonus now from my boss (yours truly) and my office Christmas party (consisting of me, the cat, and the dog) is going to be epic, Haha… He’s not amused and probably really worried.  😀

I’ve now joined the Wyoming Professional Photography Association and am excited to get involved out here in Wyoming and Montana in the field of photography.  Cheers to the new year!

Here are a few of the images from the past year that got me those awards…

Photography Competitions – Wyoming and Montana Photographer

I finally got the results back from the competition I entered last month with my local photography guild back in Florida.   I’ve enjoyed being a part of the local SWFL chapter (Professional Photographers of Southwest Florida) of the PPA and FPP for the past 4 or 5 years. This year I served as the Vice President and Program Director, but now with my move to Wyoming, I will be stepping down.

Being a part of this group has helped me in all areas of my photography business…but being a part of the competitions we held 3 times a year, definitely helped with me with my skill level. It also allowed me to photograph personal projects for myself, not just for clients.

The photography competitions and I definitely had a love/hate relationship! It was completely nerve-wracking getting my prints ready to be judged live in front of all my peers. And every competition, without fail, the judges would completely dissect all my hard work! AH! Haha. But I definitely think it made me a better photographer.

So before I get back to Christmas orders and my never-ending editing (haha!), here are a few of my pieces from my last competition…
