Jianna + Matt | Engagement Portraits

This couple made my job easy! Not only are they so incredible sweet together, they look like Barbie and Ken, but they were super comfortable posing in front of the camera for their engagement shoot.

I photographed them last month when I was back in Florida. We covered a lot of grounds in the River District of Fort Myers, FL capturing their engagement pictures.  And we lucked out with some awesome natural lighting, thank you clouds! 🙂

It was hard to narrow down my favorites engagement photos to put up here, so warning..there’s a lot!

Family Beach Portraits, Sanibel Island

So maybe 6 years ago I photographed my friends, Chris and Kim, at the beach, just the two of them (first photo below).  And here we are again, back at the beach plus two very adorable little girls!  It’s fun to see how much can change…even just looking back over this year.  Speaking of, where on earth did 2013 go?!

Just before Christmas we headed out to Lighthouse Beach on Sanibel Island for a sunset photoshoot.  These two little girls kept me laughing and having such a great time.  While one little girl is much more dainty and delicate, not really interested in getting sandy, wet or dirty…the younger sister didn’t mind getting soaked and even trying a bite or two of sand!  Such cute little girls!

Happy New Year!  I’m excited for 2014 and what it has in store (traveling???!)!

Love this one…she didn’t want to hold her sister’s hand because her hands were sandy and she didn’t want to get dirty!

Downtown Fort Myers Family Portraits

And once again…I’m a little late on posting these portraits.    I enjoyed meeting this family very much.  Both the parents work in creative fields which made it really fun knowing they had a creative eye too.   In fact, Gretchen is an amazing painter..check her out: http://www.pawpalettes.com/home .

As I was looking through these I realized one of the locations is no more.  The new restaurant, Firestone, has painted the brick wall.  Crazy how downtown Fort Myers keeps changing, but it really looks great!

Kathleen + James, a Colonial Country Club Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing Kathleen and James wedding this past November at Colonial Country Club in Fort Myers.  I loved all the ideas Kathleen told me she was incorporating in her wedding…so artistic and creative!  The wedding day was perfect, everything went smoothly and the weather was ideal.  You have to love Florida in November, my favorite month!

Starting off…some of Kathleen’s items.  Did you know most brides spend just as much time finding the right shoes as they do their dress (or if you are like me, spent more time finding the shoes!)?  Just a fun fact and I had to point out Kathleen’s shoes…love them!  She was a stunning bride!

Hanna, child portraits

I’ve been photographing Hanna since she was about 2 weeks old.  I usually know with Hanna that I am going to have to keep her really entertained and shoot fast!  Hanna loves birds, so on this shoot her stuffed parrot was able to keep her pretty entertained while I got the photos I wanted.  I love all the expressions she has, even the mad ones! Each photo has so much personality, not the typical folded hands in lap, looking at camera and smiling perfectly…no, no… there is definitely life in these photos! When she was 2 we did a scene with her and a bunch of apples (posted one of these below)…it worked out so well, kept her busy -while she ate the apples, I took photos 🙂 This girl really loves watermelon, pretty much could live off of it, so this time I tried it with a watermelon slice…love it! I think I may always have to incorporate food! 😉
